Business review: Comic Evolution

Since it opened four years ago, Comic Evolution has stayed true to its slogan, “Keeping independent comics independent.” But even more than that, the store has remained a cool place for comic book nerds of every kind to gather.

The store has different sections for different types of customers. A graphic novel section features different independent companies and other bigger companies. And portraits by independent artists cover the walls.

Most of the store is filled up with common comic book companies like Marvel. Popular comic book T-shirts and other memorabilia are available.

Comic books and graphic novels are offered in every condition too, from old collectible books to new ones just published.

Comic Evolution has a dynamic vibe. It fills all its customers’ needs, plays hip music and carries cool merchandise.

The only problem is that the Comic Evolution website mentions a kid-friendly section in the store, but it’s impossible to find, if it even exists.

Aside from that, Comic Evolution is a great store for comic book or graphic novel lovers. It was nominated as the second best comic book store in western Washington and for a good reason.

Comic Evolution is at 206 S. Meridian in downtown Puyallup. The store also sells comic books and graphic novels on Amazon.com. The store can be found online at www.comic-evolution.com.

I give it: 4 out of 5 stars
