             Monique Grayson

 

In terms of your new position, what are your plans for the 2013-14 school year? I am very excited about my new position as clubs senator here at Pierce College Puyallup, and I have a few goals that I am currently working on. With being the clubs senator, I want to promote the benefits and importance of starting or being part of a club. Clubs can be a part of student success and student involvement.

What should Puyallup campus students know about you? I am also a student here at Pierce pursuing my career in human resource management. I am very interested in leadership, and this is why I wanted to be a part of Student Life.

What do you do in your free time? I love spending time with my family, working in my yard (when it’s not raining) and household projects.

What’s your secret tip to do well in your classes? I know school and life can be stressful, so always remember to relax, eat well, and exercise if possible. If you don’t know, ask! There are many resources on campus to help.

Personally and professionally, what are you looking forward to doing this school year? I am looking forward to graduating this year, and accomplishing goals that will positively impact my future career. I also look forward to working with students, and being able to help them create clubs of their interest.

What is your favorite subject/class in school? Even though I have enjoyed all my classes, I love business management and human resource management subjects.

What is the best (your favorite) Halloween costume that you have worn? I haven’t dressed up for Halloween in a very long time, but this year I will dress up for our Halloween Costume Contest event. I am still unsure of what I am going to wear, but it will probably be a superhero!

      Isaac Folitau

In terms of your new position, what are your plans for the 2013-14 school year? To make a huge impact on students of this school with my events.

What should Puyallup campus students know about you? I love to play the Ukulele. I really love music.

What do you do in your free time? Watch T.V., workout at the gym and chill with family and friends.

What do you wish more students knew about Pierce College Puyallup? This is an open and safe environment for all students, and that we see each other as part of our ohana (family).

What’s your secret tip to do well in your classes? Show up in class.

Personally and professionally, what are you looking forward to doing this school year? Creating events on campus.

What is your favorite subject/class in school? Math.

What is the best (your favorite) Halloween Costume that you have worn? Scream.

What is your favorite back-to-school memory? We had a back-to-school fair that included inflatables bouncers and a variety of games.

 

       Maria Rybalka

In terms of your new position, what are your plans for the 2013-14 school year? I plan on incorporating fun health activities that people will find interesting and informative.

What should Puyallup campus students know about you? Feel free to talk to me if you need anything.

What do you do in your free time? I love to read and run.

What do you wish more students knew about Pierce College Puyallup? The shortcut from the College Center to the Arts and Allied Health building.

What’s your secret tip to do well in your classes? I do my homework every day.

Personally and professionally, what are you looking forward to doing this school year? I look forward to completing my first year of college.

What is your favorite subject/class in school? Math.

What is the best (your favorite) Halloween costume that you have worn? I do not celebrate Halloween.

What is your favorite back-to-school memory? I love buying new clothes.

 

          Joseph Brethour

In terms of your new position, what are your plans for the 2013-14 school year? In the 2013-14 school year I plan to create events and programs that will persuade students to switch to reusable water bottles.

What should Puyallup campus students know about you? I’m not growing a mustache because I think it looks good. I’m growing a mustache because I want to be Freddie Mercury.

What do you do in your free time? I have a propensity to make food in my free time. When I’m not eating, I am rock climbing or causing mischief with my girlfriend.

What do you wish more students knew about Pierce College Puyallup? I wish more students knew about how many great events are happening. It’s such a great way to make new friends and bond.

What’s your secret tip to do well in your classes? Do your homework. Read your notes before bed. Organize.

Personally and professionally, what are you looking forward to doing this school year? Personally, I look forward to moving out. Professionally, I look forward to connecting with environmental organizations to plan events.

What is your favorite subject/class in school? My favorite subject/class in school so far has been English with Duncan McClinton. I had never been so passionate about English in my life.

What is the best (your favorite) Halloween costume that you have worn? I have never been good at dressing up for Halloween, but I am going to be Freddie Mercury for Halloween this year.

What is your favorite back-to-school memory? I discovered graph-paper notebooks in the student store. That was thrilling.

 

        Ethan Christensen

In terms of your new position, what are your plans for the 2013-14 school year? My position includes a lot of “behind the scenes” work with administration. Each member of our student government, including me, has our own individual goals as well as team goals that we’re all working hard on. It’s up to me to be a channel of communication between the Office of Student Life and the rest of Pierce College.

What should Puyallup campus students know about you? I try to be as accessible of a leader as possible and encourage feedback from everyone willing to give it.

What do you do in your free time? I watch football, read sports articles, freestyle rap with friends and take pictures.

What do you wish more students knew about Pierce College Puyallup?

The $100 fee that they pay each quarter goes to our office so they should try to get their money’s worth and attend all the awesome events that we put on for them.

What’s your secret tip to do well in your classes? Check your professors on ratemyprofessors.org…that is all.

Personally and professionally, what are you looking forward to doing this school year? Improving student spaces and identifying student needs is a big team goal for student government.

What is your favorite subject/class in school? Chemistry is all that matters.

What is the best (your favorite) Halloween costume that you have worn?

One time I was a zombie and got a whole pillowcase full of candy.

What is your favorite back-to-school memory? Singing the back-to-school song from Billy Madison just about every year since sixth grade.

 

 

        Andrew Lake

In terms of your new position, what are your plans for the 2013-14 school year? My plans are to use our social media sites and various other mediums in order to create more effective communication between the Office of Student Life and our students.

What should Puyallup campus students know about you? All of the Puyallup students should know that I want to talk to each and every one of them individual. They can feel free to come up to me and talk whenever they want.

What do you do in your free time? Music, hanging out with friends, and soccer.

What do you wish more students knew about Pierce College Puyallup? Our Facebook page (Pierce College Puyallup Office of Student Life) and our bi-weekly photo contests.

What’s your secret tip to do well in your classes? Understand how you learn (kinesthetically, auditory, visually, etc.) then do things your way.

Personally and professionally, what are you looking forward to doing this school year? Personally, I’m excited to graduate high school and go to a university. Professionally, I’m looking forward to exploring this career option and giving away some awesome free stuff.

What is your favorite subject/class in school? I have always loved English, public speaking and music.

What is the best (your favorite) Halloween Costume that you have worn? A couple of years ago, my sister went as a (homemade) Jack from Jack in the Box and I went as Dr Pepper (wearing scrubs and a nametag which said Dr Pepper).

What is your favorite back-to-school memory? Going into kindergarten, I had an awesome teacher.
