The West Pioneer Grill has only been open a few weeks but I can already see it as a future mainstay of the Puyallup area. Customer reviews praise the location for their locally-sourced produce and dedicated customer service. I was pleased to find that I too share the opinion of the customer reviews – it appears I have found my new go-to breakfast restaurant.
Their 24/7 breakfast menu offers many of the classic breakfast meals customers expect to find: french toast, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, steak and eggs to name a few.
I ordered their chicken-fried steak, which comes with hash browns and the customer’s choice of eggs and toast. The chicken-fried steak was juicy and flavorful, topped with a white gravy that gave an extra something to the meal. While I am not a huge fan of hash browns, I must give kudos to the West Pioneer Grill’s hash browns which were surprisingly good. Take my advice, have the gravy added to the hash browns – it’s the only way to enjoy them at their best.
The whole time I was eating, the atmosphere of the place was fun and laid back. Music on the overhead speakers played some classics like “I Want To Know What Love is” by Foreigner, “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor and “Brick House” by The Commodores. At one point, I could hear one of the customers singing along with the music, bringing a smile to my face and making me feel silly for dancing in my seat.
By the time I left the restaurant I was fully satisfied by the food and ready to come back another day to try their lunch menu. The lunch menu features a wide selection of meals: steak, salads, burgers, nachos and more.
I give this place four out of five stars.
